PlumbQuote Privacy Policy
The short version
- Your estimates, customers, price book and logo are stored on your phone. There is no PlumbQuote account and no PlumbQuote server holding your jobs.
- With Pro, your data is backed up to your own iCloud Drive (you can turn this off). We cannot see it.
- The app sends anonymous usage data to improve the app. It never includes customer names, addresses, phone numbers, notes, line descriptions or prices, and you can turn it off in Settings.
- No ads, no tracking across other apps, and no selling of data.
Who we are
PlumbQuote (“the App”) is developed and published by Nghia Dinh, an independent developer (“I”, “we”). This policy explains what information the App handles, where it goes, and the choices you have.
Information stored on your device
Everything you enter to run your business in PlumbQuote — your business profile and logo, customer names and contact details, job addresses, estimates, line items, prices, notes and your price book — is saved in a database inside the App on your phone. It is not uploaded to us, and we have no way to read it.
Photos
If you choose a business logo, the App asks for access to your photo library so you can pick an image. Only the image you choose is copied into the App to appear on your estimates. Nothing else in your library is read or uploaded.
Sharing and printing estimates
When you share, email or print an estimate, the App creates a PDF and hands it to the iOS share sheet or print dialog. The PDF goes only to the person, app or printer you choose. We do not receive a copy.
iCloud backup (Pro)
PlumbQuote Pro backs up your data automatically to your own iCloud Drive, in a private folder that belongs to the App. A backup contains a copy of the App's database and your logo. It is stored by Apple under your Apple Account and is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot access it. The App keeps only the most recent backups and removes older ones automatically. You can switch off “Back up to iCloud” in the App's Settings, and delete all backups from iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Anonymous usage data
To understand which features are used and where the App needs work, PlumbQuote uses Google Firebase Analytics. It records events such as “estimate created”, “PDF shared”, “price book item saved” or “subscription screen viewed”, together with basic device and app information (for example iOS version, app version and country) and a random app-install identifier generated by Firebase.
These events are designed so that no job data leaves your phone:
- They never include customer names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, line descriptions or money amounts.
- Counts are sent in ranges (for example “2–5 lines”) rather than exact numbers.
- One exception: when a search in the Lookup tab finds nothing, the search term is sent so missing reference data can be added.
This data is not used to identify you, is not linked to your identity, and is not used for advertising. Usage data is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data; once off, no further events are sent. Firebase is operated by Google — see Privacy and Security in Firebase.
Subscriptions and purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. To check whether you have an active subscription, the App uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history (such as product, purchase date and renewal status).
When you contact us
If you email support, or use “Report a problem” in the Lookup tab, your own mail app opens with a pre-filled message that includes the reference entry and the App version. We only receive what you choose to send, and use it only to reply to you and to fix the App.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers (IDFA). The App does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- No selling or renting of personal information.
- No account, sign-in or collection of contacts, location or microphone data.
Keeping and deleting your data
Data on your phone stays until you delete it in the App or delete the App. iCloud backups stay in your iCloud Drive until you delete them as described above. Anonymous analytics data is kept by Firebase for a limited period and then deleted automatically. Because it is not linked to your identity, we cannot look it up by name; turning off usage data stops any new collection.
Children
PlumbQuote is a business tool for tradespeople and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to have it deleted. Since your business data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you control it directly. For any other request, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
